IVY GPA Track is a Chrome extension designed to help students calculate and track GPA, organize grades by subject and quarter, and understand academic performance on the Ivy LMS at lms.ivyis.org.
Information the extension handles
When you use the extension, it may read academic information displayed on the Ivy LMS pages you use, such as course names, grades, assessment or ticket names, quarter information, and course administrator or teacher names. Information you enter into the extension, such as a student name, grade level, or school ID, may also be stored in the extension's local settings.
The extension uses this information to calculate GPA estimates, organize grade information, show ticket impact, identify course teachers from course details, and support message requests that you initiate.
Where information is stored
Extension settings, scanned academic information, and GPA/scan history are stored locally in your browser using Chrome's local extension storage. The extension developer does not operate a backend service for this information, and the extension is not designed to send this stored data to the developer. Data may be removed by clearing the extension's stored data or uninstalling the extension; Chrome's handling of data during uninstall may vary.
LMS access and messages
The extension only requests host access to https://lms.ivyis.org/* so it can read relevant course and grade pages and support LMS features. You must sign in to the LMS yourself; IVY GPA Track does not ask for or store your LMS password.
If you choose to use a message-request feature, the extension may open the LMS messaging page and fill in a recipient and message, and the feature may submit the message to the LMS. The message and recipient information are sent to and handled by the LMS according to the LMS provider's systems and policies. Review the recipient and message before sending. Do not use the feature unless you understand and agree with the message being sent.
Sharing and sale
The extension developer does not sell your academic information or share it with advertisers. The extension does not include developer-operated analytics or telemetry. Information is shared with the LMS only when necessary for the LMS features you choose to use, such as submitting a message, and is otherwise processed locally by the extension.
Permissions
- Storage: saves your extension settings and locally processed grade and scan data.
- Tabs: opens or switches to relevant Ivy LMS pages for scanning and user-requested messaging workflows.
- Ivy LMS host access: allows the extension's scripts to run on Ivy LMS pages to read grade/course content and support the features described above.
Children and students
This extension is intended as a student tool. Users should only use it in accordance with their school's rules and any applicable requirements for parental consent or student data. The extension developer does not knowingly collect student information through a separate server or account system.
Security and retention
Information handled for grade tracking is stored in the browser on your device. Protect access to your browser and device, and sign out of the LMS when appropriate. If you clear the extension's local data or remove the extension, locally stored extension information may be deleted.
Changes to this policy
This policy may be updated if the extension's functionality or data handling changes. The effective date at the top will be revised when changes are made. Review the policy periodically and before using new features.
Contact
For privacy questions or requests, contact the developer through the project repository: IVY GPA Track support on GitHub. Do not post grades, school IDs, screenshots containing student information, or other sensitive data in a public issue.
